The current Residential Recovery Fund assessment on the ROC fee page is $370 for a new residential or dual license and $270 at renewal, for a two year license. It applies to residential (R and B) and dual (CR and K) classes; commercial classes (C, A, B-1, B-2) pay $0. State law caps the assessment at $600 per two year license period (A.R.S. 32-1126, subsection G). (source: Arizona Registrar of Contractors) (source: Arizona State Legislature)

The ROC fee page is headed "Effective 7/1/2014" and the fees are for a two year license. Residential and dual applicants pay the Recovery Fund assessment even if a fee waiver applies. Exam fees are extra: $61 for the Statutes and Rules exam (SRE, paid to Gmetrix) and $66 for a trade exam (paid to PSI). (source: Arizona Registrar of Contractors)

The ROC waives the initial application fee for some first time sole proprietor applicants: an active duty service member's spouse, a veteran honorably discharged within two years, or someone whose family income is at or under 200% of the federal poverty guidelines.
